Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian tops Terminator Salvation
According to studio estimates issued on sunday, Ben Stiller beat Christian Bale in the North American weekend box office duel between their respective "Night at the Museum" and "Terminator" sequels. LOS ANGELES (Reuters)

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian Trailer:

The 20th Century Fox comedy "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" sold $53.5 million worth of tickets during the three days beginning Friday, far exceeding the $30.4 million debut of its 2006 predecessor.

Terminator Salvation Trailer:

"Terminator Salvation" earned $43.0 million. The film fell short of the $44 million start for the previous entry in the cyborg series, 2003's "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines," the swan song of franchise star Arnold Schwarzenegger.

But the race between the two new sequels was closer than it appeared because Warner Bros. got a head start on the U.S. Memorial Day holiday weekend by opening "Terminator" on Thursday, when it earned about $13.4 million. That takes the film's four-day total to $56.4 million.

American Idol Season 8 Updates

Kara DioGuardi, American Idol JudgeKara DioGuardi 'Disappointed' By Paula Abdul's 'Idol' Comments.

About having a fourth judge that she doesn't think the idea of four judges on "American Idol" was such a good idea, Kara DioGuardi , who joined "Idol" this year as the fourth member on the judging panel, is firing back.

Kara said in an exclusive statement to Access Hollywood "Paula has a right to her opinions, but I was disappointed by her comments, and hurt that she did not address them to me in person."

In an interview with OK! magazine, Paula said while she "gets along great" with Kara, she doesn't think adding a new judge was what was best for the FOX show.

Paula Abdul, American Idol JudgePaula told OK!, ""We tried four judges before and it doesn't work. It takes up so much time for each of us to give our opinion that it slows down the pace of the show."

Above all, Kara is happy to be a part of the "Idol" family and is pleased with what she brings to the judge's table.

"I am proud of my contributions to the show, and remain excited about the rest of the season," Kara told Access.

Following Paula's comments to OK!, a rep for the "Straight Up" singer attempted to clear the air.

"Paula's quote was taken out of context," the rep told Access. "She was referring to previous 'guest judges' from past seasons. Not Kara."
