The Last Exorcism

The Last Exorcism, an upcoming 2010  horror film directed by Daniel Stamm.  It stars Patrick Fabian, Iris Bahr and Louis Herthum.

The film told from a Protestant priest, who turns his back on his religion and practices as part of a documentary the last exorcism.  He who believes in God, must also accept the existence of the devil.

"When he arrives on the rural Louisiana farm of Louis Sweetzer, the Reverend Cotton Marcus (Patrick Fabian) expects to perform just another routine "exorcism" on a disturbed religious fanatic. An earnest fundamentalist, Sweetzer has contacted the charismatic preacher as a last resort, certain his teenage daughter Nell is possessed by a demon who must be exorcised before their terrifying ordeal ends in unimaginable tragedy.

Buckling under the weight of his conscience after years of parting desperate believers with their money, Cotton and his crew plan to film a confessional documentary of this, his last exorcism. But upon arriving at the already blood drenched family farm, it is soon clear that nothing could have prepared him for the true evil he encounters there. Now, too late to turn back, Reverend Marcus' own beliefs are shaken to the core when he and his crew must find a way to save Nell – and themselves – before it is too."

I need to see this one so that I can compare it what "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" gave me. Release date will be August 27, 2010

Megan Fox OUSTED for Transformers 3?!?

This is not a good news according to a source, Megan Fox is not returning for Transformers 3 anymore. Shia will be given a new love interest makes more sense for the story from Michael Bay.

Fox and Bay began their feud last summer where, among other comments, she compared Bay to Hitler and Napoleon, and he said she had a lot of growing up to do (said the man whose last movie had giant robot testicles and racist caricatures). It seemed like the two had patched things up and there were no recent rumblings of dropping the actress. As recently as two weeks ago, there were photos of her on the set standing next to Bumbleebee. It’s possible that Fox wanted to be let go. As recently as this week she was blaming the director for demanding a regimen of almost non-stop tanning. I would ask who will replace her, but does anyone honestly care? Transformers has never been about the human characters.

But we can still see hot and sexy Megan Fox in her upcoming movie Jonah Hex coming this summer. Transformers 3 will be up in July 1, 2011.

Street Fighter: Legacy

I've been a fan of Street Fighter video game and series of it comes along. The latest installment as of today is Street Fighter IV and I would have to say that it's really fantastic. It also had it's movie adaptations and as far as I remember, the film the I last saw was with Jean-Claude Van Damme (1994), Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li (2009) etc. and based from the movie reviews, it didn't make it to what is being expected by the Street Fighter fanatics and viewers. And as of today, someone made a live-action Street Fighter short film called of Street Fighter: Legacy, by Joey Ansah (Desh) a huge fan of the Street Fighter video game series. And based from the movie stills he made (below), I would have to say that it really looks good. Check out the trailers after the jump.

From Joey Ansah

"As an actor, filmmaker and fan, I have been disappointed by the many diluted, unfaithful and outright butchered movie adaptations of fighting video games. It was clear to me, that given the way the movie industry worked, we would never see a super faithful, darker toned and more adult themed (or just plain good!) incarnation of Street Fighter unless a die-hard director or filmmaking team with game canon knowledge stepped up to the plate to helm such a project.

So almost a year ago, I began writing script treatments (with my writing collaborator and great friend Christian Howard, who also plays Ken) and a production design brief and partnered with Streetlight films before proposing my concept and vision to Capcom. I’m pleased to say they gave their blessing and permission for the project to move forward.

My team subsequently attracted a great ensemble to support and execute the project including Owen Trevor (Top gear director) who co-directed the film with me, Jacqueline Quella my Producer, Anthony Waye as my exec producer who has senior production credits on over 90 movies including the last eleven ‘James Bond’ films (Line-producer of the entire Bond movie franchise), and the renowned post production/VFX house, Prime Focus, to name but a few.

We’ve all strived to make a beautiful film that hopefully non fans will really appreciate, but ultimately this is a love letter to the fans and the brilliance of the game. As a result, I’ve gone to every length to be as faithful as possible down to the smallest details of the costume, the choreography, the narrative, the original music themes and, of course, the special moves!

After almost a year of blood, sweat, lots of favours, enthusiasm and love, we are ready to release ‘StreetFighter: Legacy’ to the people who deserve it most…….the fans.

Enjoy the two teaser trailers, and look out for the short film to be online on Thursday along with a series of making of featurettes."
