Street Fighter: Legacy - Short Fan Film

As promised, below is the video of Street Fighter: Legacy short film directed by Joey Ansah and Owen Trevor. What do you think about it?

Will it Top or Flop??

Street Fighter: Legacy

I've been a fan of Street Fighter video game and series of it comes along. The latest installment as of today is Street Fighter IV and I would have to say that it's really fantastic. It also had it's movie adaptations and as far as I remember, the film the I last saw was with Jean-Claude Van Damme (1994), Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li (2009) etc. and based from the movie reviews, it didn't make it to what is being expected by the Street Fighter fanatics and viewers. And as of today, someone made a live-action Street Fighter short film called of Street Fighter: Legacy, by Joey Ansah (Desh) a huge fan of the Street Fighter video game series. And based from the movie stills he made (below), I would have to say that it really looks good. Check out the trailers after the jump.

From Joey Ansah

"As an actor, filmmaker and fan, I have been disappointed by the many diluted, unfaithful and outright butchered movie adaptations of fighting video games. It was clear to me, that given the way the movie industry worked, we would never see a super faithful, darker toned and more adult themed (or just plain good!) incarnation of Street Fighter unless a die-hard director or filmmaking team with game canon knowledge stepped up to the plate to helm such a project.

So almost a year ago, I began writing script treatments (with my writing collaborator and great friend Christian Howard, who also plays Ken) and a production design brief and partnered with Streetlight films before proposing my concept and vision to Capcom. I’m pleased to say they gave their blessing and permission for the project to move forward.

My team subsequently attracted a great ensemble to support and execute the project including Owen Trevor (Top gear director) who co-directed the film with me, Jacqueline Quella my Producer, Anthony Waye as my exec producer who has senior production credits on over 90 movies including the last eleven ‘James Bond’ films (Line-producer of the entire Bond movie franchise), and the renowned post production/VFX house, Prime Focus, to name but a few.

We’ve all strived to make a beautiful film that hopefully non fans will really appreciate, but ultimately this is a love letter to the fans and the brilliance of the game. As a result, I’ve gone to every length to be as faithful as possible down to the smallest details of the costume, the choreography, the narrative, the original music themes and, of course, the special moves!

After almost a year of blood, sweat, lots of favours, enthusiasm and love, we are ready to release ‘StreetFighter: Legacy’ to the people who deserve it most…….the fans.

Enjoy the two teaser trailers, and look out for the short film to be online on Thursday along with a series of making of featurettes."

Megan Fox in Jonah Hex

It has been months since a saw Transformer hottie Megan Fox in movies, Jennifer's Body was the last and I miss seeing her in movies. And finally, Jonah Hex made it possible. The trailer was not that good for me - it has a bit of comparison on Will Smith's Wild Wild West thing.

Jonah Hex is based on the DC Comics character of the same name. Under Warner Bros., the film is directed by Jimmy Hayward and stars Josh Brolin (Jonah Hex) with John Malkovich, Michael Fassbender and Megan Fox.To be released on June 18, 2010.

The U.S. military makes a scarred bounty hunter with warrants on his own head an offer he cannot refuse: in exchange for his freedom, he must stop a terrorist who is ready to unleash Hell on Earth. He is hired to track down Quentin Turnbull, with whom he shares a troubled past. Early rumors emerged about a zombie army or Quentin trying to rewin the war, but these were dismissed when producers said "Quentin is more of a terrorist upset about the outcome of the war not someone trying to fight and rewin it."

Killers

Check this out movie goers, another action comedy film starring Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher. This kinda look like Mr. and Mrs Smith film??  Am I right? But anyway let's just wait and see.

Rovering from a sudden break—up, Jen Kornfeldt (Heigl) believes she’ll never fall in love again. But when she reluctantly joins her parents on a trip to the French Riviera, Jen happens to meet the man of her dreams, the dashing, handsome Spencer Aimes (Kutcher). Spencer Aimes is just your average, undercover, government-hired super-assassin accustomed to a life of exotic European locales, flashy sports cars and even flashier women.

3 years later, Spencer and Jen are still enjoying a perfect marriage that is, until the morning after Spencer's 30th birthday when bullets start flying. Literally. It turns out Spencer never bothered to tell Jen he’s also an international super—spy, and now Jen's perfect world has been turned upside down. Faced with the fact that her husband is a hit man, Jen is determined to discover what other secrets Spencer might be keeping – all the while trying to dodge bullets, keep up neighborly appearances, manage the in—laws…and work out some major trust issues.

The film is set to be released in the United States on June 4, 2010.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice

Check out Disney's Fantasia, A new live action comedy-adventure loosely based on the "Sorcerer's Apprentice". The Sorcerer's Apprentice is an upcoming 2010 Disney family adventure film directed by Jon Turteltaub, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and starring Nicolas Cage and Jay Baruchel.

In modern day Manhatten, the master sorcerer Balthazar Blake (Nicholas Cage) attempts to protect the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina), an evil wizard with nefarious plans.  Horvath is determined to claim New York City for his own evil purposes, and enlists an illusionist (Tony Kebbell) to help him toward that end. Given the formidable forces working against him, Blake does not feel that he can accomplish this mission alone. To help in his venture, he seeks out a seemingly average guy, Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel), who is recruited to be Blake's apprentice. Stutler is initially skeptical, and reluctant to get involved, but eventually is convinced by Blake to help in this cause. Blake gives Stutler a crash course in magic, and mishaps invariably ensue. There is also a love interest in peril angle to the storyline that provides additional motivation for Stutler. Together, Blake and Stutler take on Horvath in a classic good versus evil struggle. Check out the awesome traier below.

To be released on July 16, 2010.
